Who is Larry Long?
- Larry W. Long is a professional photographer specializing in beautifully illuminated "on location" portraits, events and weddings. His mastery of light and skillful use of natural surroundings and sensible posing give his work a fine art quality. He simply refers to it as "photographic portraiture".
- Larry is a native Lexingtonian with thorough knowledge of a variety of wedding traditions. He is well respected among local wedding professionals and has over 30 years of experience working with brides and families in the Bluegrass.
- Although he has many years of experience, he is by no means "old fashioned". Through continuing education and a constant desire to upgrade his style, Larry is on the cutting edge of contemporary portrait and event photography. He is eager to embrace new technology and has modernized his operation to include digital capture, in-house digital production, and the latest in product innovations; all so that you, the client, will have the very best in digital imaging.
- He has been named the Kentucky Photographer of the Year and has won several merit awards in state, regional and national juried competitions, including the prestigious PPA Loan Collection. He was the winner of the coveted Kodak Gallery Award for the best wedding photograph entered into competition at the 2007 annual convention of the Kentucky Professional Photographer's Association.
- He is a Past President of the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association and a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and the American Society of Photographers.
- He holds the distinction of having been designated as a Certified Professional Photographer, Master of Photography, and Photographic Craftsman by the Professional Photographers of America, and holds the Kentucky Fellowship Degree and the coveted Kentucky Degree of Excellence. Less than a dozen photographers in the entire State of Kentucky can claim to have all of the above honors!
